Tulip ‘Parrot Prince’ (10 bulbs)

Tulipa ‘Parrot Prince’ is an incredible eye-catching variety of colourful tulip appearing in shades of hot pink with highly ruffled and fringed petal edges. These flowers will open in direct sunlight until they are almost flat.

Parrot tulip such as ‘Prince’ are whimsically-shaped tulips with ruffled or fringed petals. Emerging as green buds, they will eventually open into mature unusually-coloured flowers, resembling the plumage of a parrot.

These ‘Parrot Prince’ bulbs will bloom for several weeks around late spring, with lance-shaped grey-green leaves, reaching an eventual full height of around 40cm/16″.

These hardy spring bulbs are perfect for planting in small groups in borders or containers adding a hint of exotic paradise, preferably protected from strong winds. They are also excellent as cut flowers earning themselves a place in the cut flower garden.

‘Parrot Prince’ tulip bulbs can grow in almost any soil, be it acid, alkaline or neutral, provided there is satisfactory drainage. Look for an area of full sun, in a place where tulips have not been grown in recent years. Plant the bulbs approximately 10cm/4″ deep and 10cm/4″ apart.

Remove flowers when they begin to fade and support with a top dressing of slow acting fertiliser like bone-meal after planting to assist the flowering.
