OpSuite EPOS Manager

Full-Time, Permanent

We are looking for an OpSuite EPOS Manager to join the team here at Gates Garden Centre. We are:

The OpSuite EPOS Manager is responsible for:

Looking at and analysing Data

The ability to use data effectively to improve the Epos program and its functions, including looking at lists and summaries, looking for patterns, analysing results, and making presentations to others. knowledge of the goals of the program; understanding the needs of the business; and willingness to explore creative approaches to using the data.

Navigating Database Software

Knowing how to use database software to find records, sort, review, edit, print, and other functions. Knowing how to use built-in forms and reports in a database. Exploring the software and learning various functions and features. Writing queries and reports using available tools; copying data into Excel or other formats for further analysis.

Data Integrity

Understanding definitions, program guidelines, and sources of data. Developing clear channels of communication. Reviewing data and working with colleagues to make sure that data is accurate. Being aware of potential weaknesses in the data when analysing and using the data.

Database Design and Planning

Understanding database design concepts, including “relational database design” concepts (table structure; one-to-many relationships). Understanding the benefits and limits of databases, including online databases. Ability to participate in short-term and long-term planning about the development of OpSuite in line with Business requirements.

Skills Required

  • Strong analytical and organisational skills.

  • Advanced Excel Skills
  • Understanding of structured query language (SQL)
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to co-ordinate with different teams
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure and to complete tasks within tight timescales
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Personable and able to develop strong, effective relationships

Retail Supervisor – Seasonal Dept

Full-Time, Permanent

Gates Garden Centre is seeking a Retail Supervisor for its Seasonal Department. This is an interesting and varied role, focusing on outdoor living in the spring/summer and Christmas in the winter months. The successful applicant will receive a competitive salary, working full-time including either Saturday or Sunday each week.

You will provide managerial support, helping to maintain and improve sales and customer service throughout the department. You will provide assistance in the supervision of staff, while maintaining the standards of the shop floor. You will also assist with ordering, inventory, stock and delivery processes.

Customer Service

  • Provide customers with excellent levels of Customer service
  • Ensure customers have the best shopping experience
  • Deal with customer complaints and enquiries, providing the best possible outcome

Sales

  • Ensure that targets are achieved and, where possible, exceeded
  • Excellent product knowledge in order to advise and answer customer queries
  • Monitor staff service levels in order to maximise store sales

Visual Merchandising

  • Attract, engage and motivate customers to make purchases through visual presentation techniques
  • Keep the store in great shape and looking its best
  • Keep stock clean and presentable at all times

Training & Development

  • Provide assistance with the induction and training of new starters
  • Assist with the development of existing staff
  • Ensure the personal appearance of sales staff is in line with company guidelines

About you

  • You will have previous retail experience, ideally with some management experience too
  • A flexible team player, who is energetic, enthusiastic and dynamic
  • Excellent customer service skills and a friendly personality
  • Professional, responsible and well-presented
  • Excellent Time Management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • IT skills- Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
