These Crocus ‘Gipsy Girl’ bulbs produce flamboyant blooms with yellow petals featuring purplish-brown striped outer petals.
Plant these bulbs from July to October for beautiful flowers which have large, deep golden flowers, strikingly marked with purplish-brown feathering on their outer petals. A member of the RHS Plants for Pollinators collection, in addition to their striking appearance these stunning large flowers will attract bees and other pollinators to your garden.
Blooming throughout February and March, these bulbs will grow to a height of around 8cm, providing a much-needed dose of early spring colour. In addition to this, due to its interesting outer markings, there is always something to enjoy even on a dull day when the blooms won’t open.
These bulbs are stunning in beds, lawns, under trees, rock gardens, in front of shrubs and along walkways. They are also excellent for naturalising in large sweeping drifts of colour.
Plant these ‘Gipsy Girl’ bulbs approximately 5cm deep and 5cm apart. Crocuses will grow in a wide range of soils provided there is good drainage. They like sunshine but the flowers will last longer in partial shade. When planting, place wire netting just under the soil surface to prevent mice or squirrels eating the corms.
