Tulip ‘Yellow Emperor’ (10 bulbs)

Also known as ‘Yellow Purissima’, Tulip ‘Yellow Emperor’ is a regal, showy tulip that produces rich sunshine-gold blooms that are perfect for lightening up the garden after winter.

With its strong growth, great performance and excellent durability, this variety was awarded the prestigious Award of Garden Merit by the Royal Horticultural Society. It grows sturdy stems that can withstand strong winds, floating gracefully above broad wavy leaves.

Blooming early in March and April, these tulips will grow to approximately 35cm/14″.

These delightful spring flowering bulbs are ideal for planting in beds, borders, pots and containers in clumps during the autumn. ‘Yellow Emperor’ tulips combine well in the garden, however, they should ideally be planted together, in groups of at least 10-15 for maximum impact. These uplifting flowers are also excellent in floral bouquets and should be a mainstay of the cut flower garden.

‘Yellow Emperor’ tulips can be grown in a wide range of soils, be it acid, alkaline or neutral, provided there is good drainage, performing best in a position of full sun. Plant the bulbs approximately 15cm/6″ deep and 10cm/4″ apart.
