Tulip ‘Librije’ (10 bulbs)

Previously sold only to professional growers, Tulipa ‘Librije’ is a variety of Triumph Tulip that produces somewhat muted violet flowers that gradually intensify as they mature along with a consistent white feathered border.

‘Librije’ tulips will grow to a height of around 45cm/18″, flowering in April above sword-shaped grey-green leaves and sturdy stems.

A vigorous and robust grower, these bulbs are ideal for beds and borders with bold colour that makes them especially popular for pots and containers. This hybrid tulip will also produce exceptional cut flowers earning a place in the cut flower garden.

‘Librije’ tulip bulbs should be planted 10cm/4″ deep and 10cm/4″ apart, growing in almost any soil, be it acidic, alkaline or neutral, provided there is effective drainage. Try to plant in a position of full sun, in a place where tulips have not been grown in recent years, preferably protected from strong winds.

Remove flowers when they begin to fade and support them after planting with a top dressing of slow acting fertiliser, such as bone-meal, to assist the flowering.
