Tulip ‘White Emperor’ (10 bulbs)

Also known as ‘Purissima’, Tulipa ‘White Emperor’ is a regal white tulip that lives up to its name with beautiful, big, long-lasting, scented blooms of snowy-white lance-shaped petals and a pale gold base.

Due to its strong growth, great performance and excellent durability, this variety has been given the prestigious Award of Garden Merit by the Royal Horticultural Society. It features sturdy stems that can withstand strong winds, floating gracefully above broad wavy leaves.

Early flowering in March and April, these bulbs will grow to a height of approximately 35cm/14″.

Wonderful in white gardens and beautiful in mixed themes, these delightful spring flowering bulbs are ideal for planting in beds, borders, pots and containers in clumps during late autumn. ‘White Emperor’ tulips combine well with absolutely any colour, however, they should ideally be planted together, in groups of at least 10-15 for maximum impact. These stunning flowers are also excellent in floral bouquets and should be a mainstay of the cut flower garden.

‘White Emperor’ tulips can be grown in a wide range of soils, be it acid, alkaline or neutral, provided there is good drainage, performing best in a position of full sun. Plant the bulbs approximately 15cm/6″ deep and 10cm/4″ apart.
