Tulip ‘Toronto’ is an award winning multi-flowering tulip growing up to five flowers per stem. These flowers consist of coral red petals with a darker patch in the centre, opening up broadly in full sun.
Flowering through April and May, these bulbs will grow to a height of around 25cm/10″ with handsomely mottled leaves.
These naturalising spring bulbs will return to flower, year after year, in borders, around shrubs and conifers and in containers on terraces and balconies. They can also be dispersed through grass in order to gradually naturalise over time producing swathes of early season colour. Regardless of location, they should ideally be planted together in groups for the greatest visual impact.
‘Toronto’ tulip bulbs are able to be grown in almost any soil, be it acid, alkaline or neutral, provided there is good drainage. Look for an area of full sun, in a place where tulips have not been grown in recent years. Plant the bulbs approximately 10cm/4″ deep and 10cm/4″ apart.
