Tulipa kolpakowskiana is an award winning heirloom variety producing tapered, graceful, buttercup-yellow flowers with a broad streak of red on the outside.

Opening fully in bright sunlight, these tulips will flower in April and May, growing to a height of around 12cm/5″.

They will produce reliable and consistent results with excellent disease and pest resistance as recognised by the Royal Horticultural Society with their Award of Garden Merit.

These spring flowering bulbs will make for an excellent addition to beds, borders, edging or rock gardens, flowering for several years in a warm spot. They should ideally be planted in groups of at least 10-15 for the greatest visual impact.

Kolpakowskiana tulip bulbs can be grown in a wide range of soils, be it acid, alkaline or neutral, as long as there is good drainage. Look for an area of sun or partial shade, avoiding areas where tulips have been grown in recent years. Plant the bulbs approximately 10cm/4″ deep and 10cm/4″ apart.
