The Crocus sieberi subsp. sublimis ‘Tricolor’ interestingly blooms with a pale shade of violet, then blends into a white band, finishing with a golden yellow centre and orange anthers.

Announcing the beginning of spring, these delightful little flowers can be planted in drifts across grassy areas where they can naturalise and multiply over the coming years. Alternatively, the bulbs can be planted at the front of flowering beds and borders to add colour to lower levels, or in planters and containers on sunny decking or patios.

Plant these bulbs up to 10cm apart or in one large hole with enough space between so the bulbs do not touch, and ensure that they are up to 8cm deep in the soil with the flat side facing down.
