An interesting feature for borders and cut gardens, Aquilegia ‘Green Apples’ produces beautiful and elegant fully double, creamy white blooms that open in late spring to early summer from bright green apple buds that will delicately fade to white as they mature. These blooms appear atop 60cm/24″ tall stems and above divided, dark green leaves, providing subtle contrast between the dark foliage and bright white flowers.
They will excel among beds, borders, rock gardens, cottage gardens, shade gardens or naturalised areas and particularly excel when used as cut flowers with their long vase life of up to two weeks.
Easy to grow, Aquilegia ‘Black Barlow’ will perform best in full sun or part shade, in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils. They are generally short-lived but will self-seed prolifically to form large colonies in satisfactory growing conditions.
