‘Barbados’ is a spectacular flowering Hippeastrum bulb, more commonly known as amaryllis. It is ideal for a pop of colour and because the bulb set comes boxed, it makes a wonderful living gift. This amaryllis bulb will flower during winter months and will produce an upright plant (26-28cm) with vibrant pink and red flowers.

Easy to grow, simply place the compost pellet in a suitable mixing container and add 350ml of lukewarm water. Leave it to expand for thirty minutes to one hour and then mix the compost well before use. Half fill the container provided, place the bulb in the pot and fill around it, leaving a third of the bulb showing.

Position the amaryllis in a light and warm place indoors and keep compost moist, but not wet. You may need to support the stem as it grows and as the flowers bloom.

We recommend moving the amaryllis to a cooler position once flowers start to show as this will likely extend the flowering period.
