A vigorous bloomer, David Austin Veilchenblau® is a rambling rose that produces large clusters of tightly packed small flowers. These blooms emerge in a striking shade of purple-magenta with a white centre and the occasional streak of white through the petals. Each bloom features bright yellow stamens at the centre with a wonderful medium-strong, fruity fragrance.
A once-flowering variety, the flowers appear through June and July, and gradually fade to soft lilac-grey hues as they mature. It has very few thorns and the stems hold their shape well making it a great choice for planting at the front of a house, through an arch or along a wall or fence.
This reliable and robust rose, is known for its healthy and consistent growth which has been recognised by the Royal Horticultural Society who have given it their prestigious Award of Garden Merit. Hardy in all of the UK, this rambling rose will take approximately 3 years to reach a height of around 4.5m.

How to care for your rose
To get the best from your rose, plant it with a sprinkling of David Austin Mycorrhizal Fungi around the base to help the roots establish and encourage good plant health. We also recommend regularly feeding with rose food, once in late March or early April and again in July.
