Description
Prunus lusitanica also known as Portugal laurel or cherry bay is a hardy large evergreen shrub with distinctive red stems.
It has spreading habit with dark green glossy ovate shaped leaves.
At the start of summer, it produces small scented white flower racemes and these turn to purple berries, which are attractive to wildlife.
Seed kernels harmful if eaten.
