Hebe ‘Claret Crush’

Hebe ‘Claret Crush’ is an evergreen, upright, bushy shrub producing striking deep purple foliage that offers sensational winter colour. Perched off stunning red stems, these leaves will gradually fade to green in the summer. This green backdrop will perfectly complement its racemes of deep lilac flowers that appear from June through to August. As part of the RHS Plants for Pollinators collection, these flowers will also serve to attract bees and other pollinators to the garden.

Maturing to a height and spread of approximately 60cm, ‘Claret Crush’ is ideal for both city and informal cottage gardens. Its is low maintenance and is perfect for patio pots or containers while the evergreen foliage can help to add some colour and structure to the front or middle of a flower bed or border.

This plant thrives in full sun, but also tolerates light shade, in any soil that is moist but well drained. Add lots of organic matter and shelter from strong cold winds. Once established in the ground, it will only need watering in very dry conditions.
