Camellia japonica ‘Silver Anniversary’ (4 litre pot)

Camellia japonica ‘Silver Anniversary’ is a beautiful evergreen shrub with glossy deep green foliage. It has fully-petalled white flowers and comes in a 3 litre pot. Ideal for celebrating a special occasion, such as a Silver Anniversary or a special birthday. Plus, it’s a great way to bring colour, interest and height to a terrace or patio.

In late winter, flowers form from large, round buds with large flowers blooming every year from February through to April. Camellia’s are lime-hating plants, meaning that they do not grow well in alkaline-based soils. So if your garden soil is more alkaline, then we would highly recommend planting this Camellia into a large pot or container with ericaceous compost and in a sheltered and partly shaded spot.

They can be planted any time of the year, provided that the ground is not too frosty and they prefer free-draining, acidic conditions.

We recommend watering the camellia well before removing from the pot and when planting on, use ericaceous compost and a fertiliser or feed suitable for ericaceous plants, such as Azalea, Camellia & Rhododendron Continuous Release Plant Food or Liquid Ericaceous Feed.

Always ensure the top of the root ball is level with the surface and water regularly until well established. In spring, it is a good idea to top dress Camellia with composted bark, as well as applying a balanced liquid feed.
