Johnsons Carrot Rainbow F1 Seeds

A strong growing Nantes type, Johnsons Carrot Rainbow F1 Seeds produce high yields of long roots, from white through yellow to orange.

These carrots have great appeal on the plate as each colour has a subtly different taste. With their high water content, these carrots are key ingredients for a low fat diet. This wholefood is well suited for many cooking options: grilling, mashing, roasting, frying and even in soups.

When harvesting, young carrots must be alternately selected to allow for the reminder to develop fully. Weeds must be uprooted and the seed beds well watered to prevent roots splitting.

• When to sow: March to July
• Where to sow: In a prepared seed bed
• How to sow: Sow thinly in rows 30cm apart and cover lightly with 1.5cm of fine soil. Firm gently and keep moist
• Care: When harvesting, select alternate young carrots from the row, allowing the remainder to develop fully. No other thinning is needed if sown thinly. Keep weed free and keep well watered to prevent roots splitting
