Mr Fothergill’s Carrot Nantes 5 Seeds

Mr. Fothergill’s Carrot Nantes 5 Seeds are a delicious early variety that are great as ‘finger’ carrots. The blunt-ended roots have good colour and an outstanding flavour.

These carrots are an excellent source of vitamin A and antioxidants.

If carrot fly is a problem, delay sowing until May. Keep well watered during dry spells, as this will prevent the roots from splitting.

• When to sow: March to July
• Where to sow: Sow outdoors into finely prepared soil which has already been watered
• How to sow: Sow 1.5cm deep directly where they are to crop. Allow 30cm between rows
• Care: Thin by harvesting young carrots evenly from the row, allowing the remainder to grow on. Water well until plants are established. Regular sowings made every three weeks will ensure a continuous supply of young roots.
