Providing elegant colour at the end of winter, Giant Snowdrops are the perfect herald for the start of spring. These bulbs will grow strap-like bright green leaves and nodding white flowers with green markings on the inner tepals.

Also known as the Broad Leaf Snowdrop or Galanthus Woronowii, this variety received the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Garden Merit marking its excellent reliability, consistency and disease or pest resistance.

Hardy in all areas, these bulbs are ideal for naturalising in lawns, rockeries, borders and containers. For a stunning early display, we recommend planting a winter corner near the house alongside other early blooming, contrasting flowers such as Anemone Blanda or Iris Reticulata. They are perfect for growing in shaded areas, especially under trees and shrubs.

Galanthus bulbs prefer humus-rich soil that’s well-drained and kept moist, especially in the summer. Let them die back after their growth in early spring, allowing the bulbs to absorb as much energy from the sun as possible. Cut them down to ground level once the foliage is brown and straw-like. Plant bulbs 5cm deep, spaced 5cm apart.
