Tulip ‘Pink Diamond’ is a single late tulip producing spectacularly large and charming, rosy-pink cup-shaped flowers. These petals tend to fade to a softer pink towards the edges and will grow above distinct, broadly lance-shaped green leaves.
Expect ‘Pink Diamond’ blooms to emerge and flower between April and May, growing to a height of around 50cm/20″.
These delightful spring flowering bulbs are ideal for pots and will be a welcome addition to most borders, in combination with conifers and flowering shrubs. They should ideally be planted in groups of at least 10-15 for the greatest visual impact and will excel when used as cut flowers.
‘Pink Diamond’ tulip bulbs are able to be grown in practically any soil, whether it is acidic, alkaline or neutral, provided there is effective drainage. Look for a position of full sun, in a place where tulips have not been grown in recent years, preferably protected from strong winds. Look to plant the bulbs around 10cm/4″ deep and 10cm/4″ apart.
Remove flowers as they fade and support after planting with a top dressing of slow acting fertiliser, such as bone-meal, to assist the flowering.
