Salvia ‘Blue Marvel’

Known for its ultra-large blooms, Salvia ‘Blue Marvel’ flowers from early summer until well into the autumn.

Best in show at the 2016 New Plant Awards, it produces 10-12cm spikes of deep blue flowers, each with a little white on the lower lip.

These blooms rise above a compact bush with aromatic mid-green foliage and the entire plant, when fully grown, will reach a height and spread of approximately 30cm.

It is perfect among perennial borders, butterfly gardens or cottage gardens and is a magnet for butterflies, hummingbirds and bees.

It is fully hardy in all European climates and should be planted in a position of full or partial sun. Plant into moist but well drained, neutral, acidic or alkaline soil. Watch for leafhoppers, slugs or snails and remove spent flower spikes to promote further blooms and cut back after flowering is over.
