Mr. Fothergill’s Spinach Cello F1 Seeds can be picked as ‘baby’ or mature leaves, for delightful salads or sumptuous cooked dishes.

These crops are reliable in difficult conditions and are resistant to downy mildew.

This spinach is also an excellent source of vitamin A, vitamin C and folate.

Spinach is best grown in partial shade and mid summer crops should only be grown as baby leaf.

Details

  • Pack Contents: Approximately 300 seeds
  • When to sow: February to August
  • Where to sow: Sow outdoors into finely prepared soil which has already been watered
  • How to sow: Sow 2.5cm deep directly where they are to crop. Sowings from July onwards should only be grown for baby leaves. Allow 30cm between rows. Early and late sowings will benefit from frost protection
  • Care: Water well and ensure soil remains moist to prevent plants running to seed. Harvest unthinned as baby leaves. Take a few leaves from each plant allowing them to regrow for two or three more pickings. Alternatively, thin to 10cm apart to produce mature plants. Regular sowings made every two to three weeks will ensure a continuous supply. Pick young leaves regularly to encourage further growth. Do not allow plants to dry out as this will make them bolt
  • When to harvest: April to November
