Johnsons Dill Seeds

Johnsons Dill Seeds produce delicious feathery leaves that can be used to flavour fish, potatoes, sauces and mustards and are also great as a decorative garnish.

Low in fat, herbs can be used fresh or dried and are easy to grow whether you live in the city or in the country. All you need is a windowsill and a pot to create your very own herb garden for environmentally friendly, sustainable living.

The harvested seeds are full of flavour too and can be used in pickling and in stews.

For outdoors sowing

• When to sow: May to June
• Where to sow: In growing position
• How to sow: Sow thinly and cover lightly with fine soil
• Care: When large enough thin as necessary, spacing 20cm apart
• When to harvest: Pick leaves as required from June to November. Pick seed heads when light brown (outdoor crops only). After drying, shake out the seeds and store in an airtight container

For indoors sowing

• When to sow: All year round for pots indoors
• Where to sow: In pots or trays of moist compost
• How to sow: Sow thinly and cover lightly with compost. Cover with clear glass, polythene or propagator lid
• Care: Transplant to 15cm pots of compost and place in a light airy location
• When to harvest: All year round, pick the leaves as required
