Hebe ‘Golden Pixie’

Hebe ‘Golden Pixie’ is a pretty evergreen shrub that produces low maintenance green and gold foliage, providing lasting interest all year round. It will also produce an abundance of spike-like racemes of beautiful purple flowers that will appear from late spring through to the first frosts.

It will eventually reach a height and spread of around 60cm making it a compact and versatile shrub that can be used to great effect all around the garden. It particularly excels when mixed in with other Hebes such as ‘Pink Pixie’ or ‘Purple Pixie’ and is excellent as a container plant in a patio pot.

Look for a position of full sun or partial shade and plant into moist but well drained soil. Water well after planting and during dry spells through the first growing season. Once established, Hebes are fairly drought resistant and will only need watering in very dry conditions. Watch for aphids, leaf spot or downy mildew. Remove spent flowers after flowering to encourage a fresh flush of flowers and feed in spring and summer with a high potash fertiliser.
