Massively popular for their globes of blue flowers, Echinops ‘Veitch’s Blue’ is an exceptional, fully hardy perennial that is ideal for the middle of back of a sunny, well-drained border. These large blue spherical flowerheads are excellent at attracting hoards of bees, butterflies or other insects, growing above spiny, cobwebbed leaves that provide interest from spring until the flowers appear in late summer.

Adding outstanding contrast, interest and colour to the summer garden while being trouble-free and low maintenance, this plant will make an invaluable contribution to the landscape of your garden. It is ideal for cutting as it flowers more than once in a season and is perfectly suited to cottage gardens, wildlife gardens or gravel gardens.

For the best results, grow Echinops ‘Veitch’s Blue’ in a position of full sun (partial shade is tolerated). It will thrive in poor, dry to medium moisture, well-drained soils and is tolerant of hot and humid summers. While moisture is required during its growing season, this plant is drought tolerant thereafter.
