With open flowerheads and flat florets, revealing an abundance of flower and beauty, this Dahlia ‘Bishop Mixed’ collection is perfect for borders, beds, pots and vases.
As Peony Dahlias, these tubers will produce wide flowerheads, allowing bees and other pollinators to enter while also maximising their display of beautiful, bold colours.
These tubers should be planted during spring, after the danger of frost has passed and will often flower throughout summer and autumn until the first frosts. Keep picking them and one dahlia tuber will produce hundreds of flowers.
Plant the tubers 15 cm deep and 60 cm apart into well drained soil with a good supply of humus.
For early flowering these tubers may be started in boxes from the start of April, using light soil mixed with peat. Keep the boxes cool and free of frost and plant the sprouted tubers when the dangers of frost have passed.
Keep the plants well watered and deadhead to prolong flowering. Cut back to near ground level in the autumn, before lifting and storing for the winter.
