The Amaryllis ‘Christmas Wish’ Gift Pack comes with everything you need to get started and grow some beautiful Christmas blooms. The set includes the bulb, a pot and a dehydrated peat-free compost pellet.
‘Christmas Wish’ is a red-flowering Hippeastrum, more commonly known as an amaryllis, which produces large blooms of velvety red. A source of vivid colour, this striking amaryllis is perfect for livening up a corner of your home, and because it comes in a growing kit gift box it will make for a wonderful living gift.
To grow, simply place the included compost pellet in a mixing container and add 350ml of lukewarm water, allowing it to expand for thirty minutes to one hour. Mix the compost well before use. Half fill the container provided, place the bulb in the pot and fill around it, leaving a third of the bulb showing.
‘Christmas Wish’ is happiest when left in a position with filtered sunlight at room temperature. Flowers will appear in time for Christmas, provided they are planted towards the start of their planting window, and will last for approximately three weeks. You may need to support the stem as it grows and as the flowers bloom. To lengthen the flowering time, once the flowers start to show, move the pot to a cooler position.
