Featuring all the essential components required for incredible winter blooms, the Amaryllis ‘Candy Cane’ Gift Pack comes with the bulb, a suitable nursery pot, and all the required compost. It will bloom with vivid, red and white streaked flowers that open in multiple stages, lasting for up to a month.

Grown indoors from a bulb, amaryllis, officially known as Hippeastrum, is an extremely popular houseplant for the holiday season thanks to its seasonal, elegant blooms.

Grown easily using this kit, it is a great source of colour for the inside of your home through winter, and because it comes in a gift box, will make for a wonderful living gift.

To grow, simply place the included compost pellet in a mixing container and add 350ml of lukewarm water, allowing it to expand for thirty minutes to one hour. Mix the compost well before use. Half fill the container provided, place the bulb in the pot and fill around it, leaving a third of the bulb showing.

‘Candy Cane’ should ideally be left in a warm, light position. The flowers may appear in time for Christmas, flowering approximately 6 – 10 weeks after they are planted. You may need to support the stem as it grows and as the flowers bloom. To prolong the flowering time, once the flowers start to show, move the pot to a cooler position.

This growing kit is ideal for any green-thumbed friends or family, giving them something to nurture when there is little to be done in the garden.
