Also known as African lilies, Agapanthus ‘Africanus’ are native to South Africa and are known for their beautiful, large, showy clusters of funnel-shaped blue flowers. These show-stopping flowers appear on stiff, upright stems above dense clumps of narrow, strap-shaped, linear, grass-like leaves.
When planting Agapanthus bulbs, it is best to do so in well-drained soil in a sunny spot in your garden. They can also be planted in pots if you have limited space. Plant the bulbs at a depth of approximately 2cm/1″, leaving about 30cm/12″ between each bulb. Once planted, Agapanthus bulbs should be watered regularly to keep the soil moist, but not waterlogged.
When planting, bear in mind that most varieties will lean towards the sun, making a south-facing border the best location. The flowers of the Agapanthus ‘Africanus’ will bloom for several weeks during the summer, and the leaves will remain green all year round.
This pack of 3 Agapanthus ‘Africanus’ bulbs is a perfect choice for anyone looking to add a touch of elegance and beauty to their garden. With its large, trumpet-shaped flowers and low maintenance, it’s easy to see why this plant is so popular among gardeners, bursting with beauty year after year.
