Dahlia Decorative ‘Way of Life’ (1 tuber)

Perfect for adding a pop of colour to any garden bed or patio container, Dahlia ‘Way of Life’ will grow large, fluffy pink blooms that are streaked with blotches of a darker pinkish red. The flowers are up to 15cm in diameter, and will bloom from late summer to early fall.

Plant into well-draining soil in a sunny spot. Be sure to plant the tuber with the “eye” facing upwards, at a depth of around 15cm/6″. Water well after planting and keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. Once the shoots start to appear, you can begin to fertilise the plants with a balanced fertiliser every 4-6 weeks to encourage healthy growth and a profusion of flowers.

To maintain a ‘Way of Life’ dahlia, deadhead the spent blooms regularly to encourage the plant to produce more flowers. It may also be a good idea to stake the plants as they grow taller to prevent them from falling over. Tubers can be left in the ground over winter, but it is recommended to lift and store them in a frost-free place to protect them from the cold.
