Dahlia Decorative ‘Cafe au Lait’ (1 tuber)

Featuring large fully double blooms, as wide as 15cm/6″, Dahlia ‘Cafe au Lait’ is a beautiful and subtle decorative dahlia variety that is ideal for an elegant summer garden. These fully double blooms consist of pink-flushed, creamy-white flowers that appear from July through to September. This soft warm blushed colour mixes excellently with many different colour combinations making it highly versatile and adaptable for different gardens.

Growing up to 90cm/36″ tall, it is perfect for filling out the back of a summer border or as a stunning cut flower.

It will grow best in full sun, however partial shade is okay in hot summer areas. Aim to plant tubers approximately 15cm/6″ deep and 60cm/24″ apart into moist but well-drained soil with a good supply of humus and sufficient shelter from strong winds. It is best to wait until the soil has warmed up in late spring or early summer.

When maintaining a ‘cafe au lait’ dahlia, it is important to keep the soil consistently moist and to deadhead the flowers regularly to encourage new blooms. If done correctly it will continue to bloom throughout the summer and into the fall, providing a stunning display of colour for your garden.
