Crataegus laevigata ‘Pauls Scarlet’ offers an abundance of seasonal interest all year round.

Native to Britain, in spring, trusses of rich pink and red, fully double flowers open in May. These blooms are set against a backdrop of attractive dark green, glossy and lobed foliage.

In autumn, a mass of red fruit makes an excellent food source for birds and wildlife in your garden. As a native species, it is fully hardy and suited to the climate and conditions found in Britain. Planting a Crataegus in your garden will support the local ecosystem and natural wildlife. This species has been awarded an RHS Award of Garden Merit to recognise these qualities.

Plant your Crataegus in a bright and sunny spot in well drained, fertile soil. Japanese Maple, or Acer palmatum, is a good planting companion.
