Allium ‘Party Balloons’ is a beautiful and easy-to-grow perennial bulb that produces stunning, spherical flower heads in shades of pinkish-purple. The flowers are up to 8 inches in diameter and look like festive balloons, hence the name.
It can be grown in full sun or partial shade and prefers well-drained soil. The bulbs should be planted in the autumn, 6 inches deep and 6 inches apart.
‘Party Balloons’ bloom in late spring to early summer. The flowers are a magnet for pollinators, including bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. The foliage is also attractive and can remain attractive until after the flowers have faded.
After flowering, the foliage will die back. This is normal and the bulbs will store energy for next year’s bloom. In the autumn, the bulbs can be dug up and stored in a cool, dry place. However, they can also be left in the ground and will come back year after year.
‘Party Balloons’ is a great addition to any garden. It is easy to grow, attractive, and attracts pollinators. If you are looking for a unique and colourful bulb, ‘Party Balloons’ is a great choice.
