Low maintenance, but Wildlife World do recommend painting it annually to maintain its fresh water-based paint look. Alternatively, let it age naturally.
To locate the dovecote, choose a sheltered location out of prevailing winds and facing a North, North-East direction, at least 1.5m – 2m above the ground. Also, choose somewhere away from natural predators and pet cats.
