Papaver orientale ‘Pink Ruffles’ is a clump-forming herbaceous perennial, also known as an Oriental Poppy.
With beautiful salmon-pink, deeply fringed flowers with petals that look like crepe paper. The blooms have a deep plumb to black stigma at its base, which surround a near-black cluster of stamens, which appear in abundance providing a wonderful contrast.
The Papaver orientale is a popular variety growing 60cm / 24″ in height and being a hardy perennial, it is ideal for the typical British cottage garden. For best effect plant these pink oriental poppies in a sunny position in well-drained soil around March, April, or May. From June to September, you can enjoy these beautiful salmon-pink blooms in your garden borders or beds. They also make great cut flowers in a vase.
