The Freesia Single ‘Blue’ bulbs are easy to grow and provide funnel-shaped flowers that appear above wiry green stems making them ideal for cottage gardens and patio containers.
The single blue Freesia buds appear during the summer months of June, July & August, consistently opening from one day to the next offering a long-lasting bloom season. These delicate, lavender-blue flowers will fill your garden with a beautiful, inviting sweet fragrance.
You can plant the tender corms in spring during March or April into well-drained soil with plenty of peat and sand for best results. They grow best when positioned in full sun, but a sunny, sheltered location where the flowers can be protected from the sun during the hottest part of the day is ideal. You can plant in drifts or several together for a fuller more impactful effect in garden borders. We would recommend using them in containers that can be brought indoors to protect them from the colder climate.
