The Cosmos atrosanguineus ‘Chocolate Plant’ is a tender perennial. It originates from Mexico and is sure to create interest when planted in a sunny location as they emit a wonderful light dark-chocolate fragrance.
The ‘Chocolate Plant’ has velvety, bowl-shaped, maroon red daisy flowers which bloom during the summer months of July, August & September.
Reaching a mature height of 60cm, we recommend planting in areas of the garden where these intriguing flowers can be enjoyed such as patio containers, pots and the front of garden borders. They will thrive in a hot sunny garden in well-drained soil.
The Cosmos atrosanguineus ‘Chocolate Plant’ can be started off in a greenhouse to bring out during the warmth of summer. The plant will need to be dug and stored in winter to protect it from the winter climate. Lift from the ground after first frost and transplant into a container.
