Balcon-O-Mat Onion & Shallot Mixed Tray

The Balcon-O-Mat Onion & Shallot Mixed Tray is the perfect solution for quickly and easily growing delicious onions and shallots without taking up too much space. This pre-planted tray of onion and shallot sets is fully biodegradable and will be able to fit most window boxes, however, it can also be used in garden borders or raised beds.

Featuring 8 Shallot ‘Red Sun’ sets, 12 Onion ‘Red Baron’ sets, 13 Onion ‘Sturon’ sets and 5 x Onion ‘Snowball’ sets, this diverse planter removes the tedious and arduous task of bending over to place individual bulbs in a careful pattern. The removal of this process not only eliminates the stress and hassle of planting but also guarantees perfect spacing and crop placement organisation.

To plant, for an appropriate sized window box, fill with approximately 5cm/2″ of soil and place the planting tray on top of the soil. Cover the tray with soil filling the window box with soil to just 1cm/0.5″ below the top. Water regularly to keep the soil moist.

This quick and painless exercise will grant delicious, expertly planned window boxes with a fraction of the effort of traditional planting.

Ideally, this planter should be positioned in full sun or partial shade between February and March for a harvest between September and December.
