A wonderful tall bushy shrub, Whartons Roses ‘Rhapsody in Blue’ Shrub Rose has a cascade of deep purple blooms that fade to shades of slate blue as the flowers mature. An exciting variety in the world of roses, it is one of the nearest to flowers in shades of blue and was given the prestigious Rose of the Year crown in 2003.
With a cascade of semi-double flowers, it forms an opulent display of rich and dark shades combined with its dark green glossy foliage. At the centre of each rose are its golden yellow stamens that give each flower a wonderful finishing flourish. Perfect for creating a display for the senses, this rose also has a wonderful medium, sweet fragrance that is a delight to enjoy on a summers’ day.
With dependable and robust growth, this rose not only looks incredible but will flourish with minimal care. This has been recognised by the Royal Horticultural Society who have given it their prestigious Award of Garden Merit.
