Choosing Your Lemax Theme

Building a model village is a highly personal tradition, and Lemax offers distinct collections to suit every style. Caddington Village brings a touch of Victorian elegance to your home, defined by its snow-dusted, cobbled streets, classic architecture, and traditional Dickensian charm. If you prefer something more vibrant and whimsical, Santa’s Wonderland offers animated North Pole magic, whilst the Carnival collection introduces bright lights, kinetic energy, and fairground rides. For those who celebrate autumn, Spooky Town provides a delightfully eerie Halloween alternative, packed with ghoulish humour and intricate animations.

How to Power Your Lemax Village

Understanding the electrical setup is essential for bringing your display to life safely and efficiently. The majority of illuminated and animated Lemax pieces run on standard 4.5v adaptors.

  • The 3-Way Adaptor: To minimise plug socket usage, we highly recommend the official Lemax 3-output power adaptor, which safely powers up to three individual buildings or sights and sounds pieces from a single mains plug.
  • Battery Options: Many smaller illuminated pieces and table accents can be powered by standard AA batteries. This is ideal for adding elements to shelves or mantelpieces where trailing cables are not practical.
  • Important Note: Always use official Lemax adaptors. Using third-party plugs with incorrect voltage or polarity can permanently damage the internal motors and LED lighting.

Sizing and Scale

To create a realistic sense of depth in your display, it helps to understand the different types of pieces available:

  • Standard Buildings & Sights and Sounds: These are the core, fully 3D structures (such as pubs, churches, and animated factories). They form the focal points of your village.
  • Building Facades: These are clever, flat-backed pieces designed to look like the front of a building. They are perfect for sitting on narrow shelves, placing flush against a wall, or creating a space-saving backdrop behind your main 3D buildings.
  • Table Accents & Figurines: These range from small animated features (like ice skaters) to individual characters and landscaping accessories (trees, walls, and paths). They are the essential finishing touches that dictate the scale and tell the story of your village.
