Extremely weather resistant, Tulipa 'Gavota' bulbs grow into a stunning spring flowering Triumph Tulip that will produce beautiful bold flowers with purple-red petals that have ochre yellow outer margins.
This variety was also awarded the Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit thanks to its reliable and consistent results, proven history and excellent disease and pest resistance.
These mature and elegant spring flowering bulbs are perfect for pots or containers and will be a welcome addition to most borders, around shrubs and conifers, creating dazzling harmonies with other flowering bulbs. They should ideally be planted in groups of at least 10-15 for the greatest visual impact and are also exceptional as cut flowers.
'Gavota' tulip bulbs should be planted 10cm/4" deep and 10cm/4" apart, growing in practically any soil, be it acidic, alkaline or neutral, provided there is effective drainage. Try to plant in a position of full sun, in a place where tulips have not been grown in recent years, preferably protected from strong winds.
