Tulipa 'Black Parrot' bulbs grow into a beautiful perennial with broad grey foliage and large deep purple-black flowers with frilly margins. These gorgeous flowers will appear throughout April and May, reaching an approximate mature height of around 50cm/20".
These flowers are perfect at the front of flowering borders, or even as cut flowers for floral arrangements in the home. They are also excellent for underplanting roses or growing through Muscari. If planting outside, protect the slender stems by planting the bulbs in a sheltered spot away from strong wind and rain.
A recipient of the Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit, 'Black Parrot' tulips are easy and reliable to grow. They can be planted in a wide range of different soils, provided there is good drainage, and they are fully hardy with good resistance to pests and disease.
