The magnificent Sorbus commixta ‘Olympic Flame’ Tree, also known as a Japanese Rowan, is a true showstopper. It has stunning glossy green foliage in summer that turns to gold, crimson and plum shades in autumn, and looks glorious on the long, tapered shape of the leaves.
In addition to this, it has delightful clusters of creamy-white flowers in spring which turn to wonderful shiny, orange-red berries in autumn and last on the tree into winter.
It is a wonderful choice for filling a smaller space, as its wide range of ornamental interest and colour will create a beautiful focal point. It is also low-maintenance and easy to grow, and well suited to the UK climate so once planted you can enjoy this tree with minimal maintenance. In recognition of this reliable and consistently healthy growth, it has received the prestigious Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit.
