Enjoy graceful purple and white bell-shaped flowers with this pack of 15 Fritillaria meleagris bulbs. The stunning chequerboard markings and delicate pendant shape appears in April to welcome the start of spring.
Also known as ‘Snake’s Head Lily’, it is a surprisingly low-maintenance wildflower gem. If it is positioned in the right spot, it will happily return year after year to create a magnificent display, that doesn't require lifting or the storing of bulbs.
Fritillaria meleagris bulbs are versatile and ideal for naturalising in borders, grass, meadows and in woodland areas. In addition to this, they thrive in pots and make fantastic cut flowers to enjoy around the home.
These striking perennials grow up to 20cm/8″ tall and have attractive, thin, grey-green leaves. Fritillaries produce at least one or two flower heads and should be planted in clumps for maximum impact.
Plant bulbs in the ground or in containers from September to December for spring flowers in April and May. Try to plant bulbs approximately 8cm/3″ deep and 8cm/3″ apart.
