A delightful shrub to enjoy throughout the seasons, Skimmia japonica ‘Pabella’, combines glossy green leaves, with clusters of scented white flowers that, if pollinated by a male Skimmia, will be followed by an abundance of glossy cherry red berries. Perfect for adding colour and structure during the winter months, the berries emerge glossy green and gradually ripen to wonderful ruby red hues.
A compact evergreen shrub, it holds a neat and tidy shape and is easy to grow. This makes it the perfect addition to a range of outside spaces, from city and courtyard gardens planted in a container, to larger spaces used as underplanting as part of a woodland scheme. Once planted, this robust and reliable shrub will flourish for many years with minimal care.
In addition to its wonderful ornamental features, its is loved by pollinators and will attract a range of bees and butterflies into your garden. This has been recognised by the Royal Horticultural Society who have added it to their Plants for Pollinators Collection.
