Add year-round interest to dull areas of the garden using Skimmia Japonica 'Kew White', with glossy green foliage, clusters of white flowers and creamy-white berries.
With neat growth, thick glossy green leaves, fragrant white flowers and clusters of creamy white berries, Skimmia japonica 'Kew White' offers a range of ornamental features to enjoy through the year. It is an excellent choice for adding long-lasting and low maintenance interest to dull areas of the garden.
As this is a female variety of Skimmia, there needs to be a male Skimmia plant in visible proximity to ensure that the flowers are pollinated and turn to fruit. Once pollinated the wonderful berries act as an uplifting burst of colour against the dark foliage and provide long-lasting interest to enjoy.
A versatile and low-maintenance addition to a range of garden spaces, it is excellent as informal hedging or will effortlessly brighten a north facing wall. It also looks beautiful in pots positioned on patio or around seating areas and will flourish in bed and borders alongside a host of winter blooms including Hellebores, Rhododendrons, Heathers and much more.
Skimmia is also an excellent plant for attracting bees and other pollinators into your garden. This has been recognised by the Royal Horticultural Society who have added Skimmia 'Kew White' to their Plants for Pollinators Collection.
