Known as one of the most popular dessert apples, the ‘Scrumptious’ Apple Tree produces truly scrumptious and tasty apples that can be enjoyed from September to October.
As well as having delicious fruit that you can enjoy, this tree has a host of ornamental features to admire throughout the year. In spring the tree is adorned with beautiful pale pink blooms with a subtle scent. As these flowers fade the foliage accompanies the developing red fruit, which takes centre stage from September onwards. Producing masses of apples that are similar in size to Golden Delicious apples, you can enjoy these straight from the tree or they are perfect for juicing.
This wonderful tree is also easy to grow and reliable, making it a great choice for a low-maintenance cottage garden or for adding to an informal outdoor space. This consistent and healthy growth has also been recognised by the Royal Horticultural Society who have given it their prestigious Award of Garden Merit. It has also been added to the Royal Horticultural Society Plants for Pollinators Collection in recognition of its ability to attract bees and other pollinators into your garden.
To get the most from this ‘Scrumptious’ Apple Tree plant it in a bright and sunny spot in your garden, in moist, well drained soil in a west-facing position. You will then enjoy many years of wonderful juicy apples and beautiful pale pink, scented flowers in spring.
