The Prunus ‘Shogetsu’ Cherry Blossom Tree, also known as Prunus Shimizu-zakura or Weeping Oriental Cherry Tree, has masses of incredible white double flowers in spring that almost completely cover the branches.
This weeping cherry tree has a compact but airy crown and is one of the smallest varieties of ornamental cherry, making it suitable for almost any garden. Once the flowers have faded the glossy serrated mid-green coloured leaves come to the fore, alongside the shiny, coppery bark. In autumn the foliage turns to wonderful shades of crimson and gold that adds a final burst of colour.
The Prunus ‘Shogetsu’ Cherry Blossom Tree is reliable and easy to grow and has been awarded the prestigious Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit. This recognises plants that have consistent and healthy growth, with good disease and pest resistance.
