The small and compact Malus ‘Royal Raindrops’ Tree is a wonderful variety of Crab Apple Tree that has a wide range of ornamental features to admire throughout the seasons.
In spring, it is almost entirely covered with incredible dark pink fragrant flowers, that are a great way to attract pollinators into your garden. As the flowers fade, the dark purple glossy foliage comes to the fore adding a richness and depth of colour, that is a wonderful contrast with bright summer flowers.
In autumn this tree has magnificent bronze, orange and purple foliage, that contrasts beautifully alongside the vibrant red crab apples. These apples last through to early winter, and are a source of food for birds.
Malus ‘Royal Raindrops’ can be grown in a wide range of garden styles, including architectural spaces, and city and courtyards gardens. It will also thrive planted in a large container, adding to its versatility around the garden.
