The Malus floribunda, also known as the Japanese Crab, is a floriferous ornamental tree with masses of white and pale pink blooms that emerge from bright pink buds. These blooms are loved by pollinators and have received recognition from the Royal Horticultural Society by their inclusion in the Plants for Pollinators Collection.
These delightful blooms are joined by beautiful mid-green leaves that act as the perfect contrast to the autumnal fruit. The fruit emerges as small yellowy green coloured crab apples that remain on the tree until winter, providing a vital source of food for birds and other wildlife.
In addition to its host of ornamental features, that changes with the seasons, this tree has a beautiful silhouette with a rounded crown and gently arching branches.
