Beautiful burgundy, cream and pink leaves create evergreen displays with wow-factor on Lophomyrtus ‘Magic Dragon’. An excellent choice adding low maintenance colour and texture to admire, once established this shrub also has dainty white, lightly scented flowers that turn to black fruit, adding to its ornamental appeal.
Preferring a sheltered position that is protected from harsh wind, it is also well suited to shrubby borders in areas of partial shade and makes an excellent low-level hedging or screen. Its sensational foliage also looks wonderful as part of cut flower arrangements around the home.
Growing with a neat and compact habit, once planted in the right spot, it requires minimal care throughout the seasons. Simply remove any dead or diseased branches in late winter or early spring and apply a layer of mulch or use a winter fleece to protect the roots from frost. It will then create a long-lasting, display of colour and texture.
